About Me
Hi! My name is Eli Rogers and my beautiful girlfriend is Julia Rivera. I was born and raised in Torrance California and I currently live in Redondo Beach. We spend most of our free time riding our bikes to Redondo or Hermosa beach, taking our dogs on walks, and going on trips.
After High School I went to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated in 2017 with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree. While I was at school I learned to fabricate with metal, composites, and plastics including 3D printing. I worked for the school’s machine shop teaching students how to safely fabricate projects and turn their dreams into reality. I was also in two clubs, Supermileage Vehicle where I made a car that achieved 1500mpg, and the frame builders club where I fabricated 2 custom bicycle frames.
Through my work experience I have pushed new technologies toward process maturity for the aerospace, automotive, and construction industries. My second internship at Northrop Grumman was working with 3D printed parts and composites for the aerospace application. After this experience I decided I did not want to work in the defense industry but I would want to use my expertise in composites and 3D printing to improve our manufacturing processes. After graduating I obtained my first job at Divergent 3D where I worked on a team to develop new processes and alloys for 3D printing metals to change the way cars are manufactured. I worked there for 3 years until COVID hit. I then worked at Contour Crafting Corp. for 6 months designing their next generation concrete housing printer. I then worked at Bird as a Mechanical Engineer in their New Product Integration group for 9 months. This was very rewarding as we are able to displace the use of cars and consumption of gas.
Ever since graduating I have had an itch to design and manufacture objects for people’s homes in a better way. My goal is to create a carbon neutral company that manufactures goods for local markets. This is the beginning of that journey. My first product on the market is a modified pot created from the statue of David. This design has been created with 3D printing in mind to enable local manufacturing. The plastics used in this process are 95% recycled content from lostboyslabs.
Thank you for learning more about me and joining me on this crazy endeavor!
